Storms never scared me when I was younger. Now that I am older and a homeowner, I admit that I do get a bit frightened when there is a thunderstorm. The noise doesn’t scare me at all, and I find it to be peaceful actually. What does bother me is the lightning. I have a lot of trees around the house, and my worst fear came true a few weeks ago. I needed to hire a Nassau County tree removal company because lightning struck a large tree right next to the mailbox. Part of the tree came down on the mailbox, and the other part was leaning at a dangerous slant.

Most of the turtles nesting in goa are olive ridley turtles and they have nesting sites in morjim beach and some beaches in canacona
there are special facilities for the turtles at these beaches
However because of pollution and other factors, these turtles are now nesting in other beaches
The media reported that a turtle nest with eggs was spotted at calangute beach
The forest department was notified and the eggs were relocated to the beach in canacona for hatching

There are many animals in goa, like cows, pigs, birds like comorants, pigeons, magpie robins, bulbuls. These animals are getting almost no coverage in the mainstream media in goa, there are almost no articles about them.

On the other hand, the Olive Ridley turtles which come to the beaches of goa to lay their eggs, are getting a lot of coverage in the mainstream media in Goa.

The newspapers will carry almost no news or information of the red eared slider turtles which are widely available in the pet shops, only they are repeatedly carrying the news of the olive ridley turtles.
It would be interesting to find out the reason why the goan mainstream media is only covering olive ridley and does not have news of other types of turtles.

In July 2018, it was observed that a pet shop in Panaji has a large number of red eared slider turtles, it appears that a new stock has been delivered . The turtles are rather small, with a shell size of approximately 5 cm.

However the price being quoted is rather high at Rs 350 each
